Thank you to all our sponsors at our Spring 2008 convention in Aurora, Colorado at the Summit Conference and Event Center.

Hello Colorado!

We hope this email finds you enjoying the sun and having fun. As the summer wraps up, your Colorado Student Nurses' Association has been working diligently in putting together a great Fall Convention for you. Please forward this on to your classmates or friends who are considering nursing as a career. You do not have to be a member to attend a convention - it just helps financially and for elections :) Also, PRE-nursing students may join as an associate member! Visit our "Join Us" page for reasons why to join.

Welcome Bret Lyman and Jo Ruth!

This welcome is far past due. The CSNA board of directors could not operate as effectively without our Colorado Nurses' Association (CNA) consultants, Bret and Jo. Jo hails from Colorado Springs and the Beth-El College of Nursing at UCCS. Bret is from Greeley and the University of Northern Colorado School of Nursing. They are both instrumental to this association and at their school programs. Give them a pat on the back and big thank you for giving their time and sharing their knowledge.

SUCCESS at Project C.U.R.E.!

Our board members, Bret (consultant), Aurora, Kimberly, Diana, Barb, Brittany, and Michelle, plus Kathy McCracken from Arapahoe CC joined forces on July 12, Saturday to sort and box donated medical supplies to be shipped South Africa. This was such a GREAT community service project that we want to do this more often! We invite all student nurses to join us at the next service project - we'll keep you updated as we get more details. Visit Project CURE online at: http://www.projectcure.org/

What legislative issues will affect you as a Colorado RN?

Our guest speaker, Dr. Pamela Hanes, President and CEO of the Colorado Health Institute (http://www.coloradohealthinstitute.org/index.aspx), will address some of these pertinent topics at our Fall Convention. We will also welcome Darlene Franklin, RN, MSN, from Sylvia Rayfield & Associates (http://sylviarayfield.com), as our AM guest speaker.

Mark your calendar! Saturday, September 27, 2008 beginning at 7 am through 5 pm is the time to join us at the QWest Learning and Conference Center (http://www.qwestlearningandconferencecenter.com) in Lakewood, Colorado. Our plan to bring all of Colorado's nursing students united under one roof to discuss the current state of affairs in the career we have chosen. We are seeking at least one representative from each program to let us know how your school is doing and what accomplishments have been made in 2007-08.

Save $20.00 and PRE-register for the convention!

The pre-registration cost is $35 for NSNA members and $45 for non-members OR $55 on-site (Cash or check only).
